Gender-based violence (GBV).

Gender-based violence (GBV) in Zambia takes the form of physical, mental, social or economic abuse against a person because of that person’s gender and includes violence that may result in physical, sexual or psychological harm and suffering to the victim.

Gender based violence has a negative impact not only to the victim but to the relative and the community at large. A 52 years old widow Dorothy Mulenga who is affected with gender based violence and looking after the three grandchildren, a boy of 8 years, a girl 5 years and 7 months baby girl who are also affected by gender based violence.
